The following are the steps necessary to install and register a Sonicwall SOHO or TZ firewall:

Open box and power on the Sonicwall Firewall.

Connect your laptop to the LAN port in the Sonicwall Firewall.

Open browser and connect to the Sonicwall's default IP: 192.168.168.168

Choose the Wizard option.

Setup admin password and write down. Default admin password is "password"

Select the appropriate time zone.

For USB slot select none.

On WAN network mode, select an appropriate connection (DHCP or Static IP)

On WAN network mode, use DHCP if not using static IP.

On LAN settings enter appropriate settings for your network.

On Port Assignment, use the default value.

Apply settings

Connect the WAN port to your ISP if you are using DHCP in your WAN port. 

Register the Sonicwall Firewall:

Login to MySonicwall.com

Register the Sonicwall Firewall.

Download and update firmware as necessary.
